Understanding QuikDB

QuikDB is a community-powered cloud for apps, not a personal file storage service.

Regular cloud: Big companies run servers and charge developers to host their apps and data.

QuikDB: Normal people run small "nodes" (their own computers or devices). Developers then use this community network to run their apps and store app data. In return, node operators (you) earn crypto tokens.

So:

  • You are not using QuikDB to store your photos.
  • You are helping power the network for app developers.
  • You earn tokens for keeping your device online and healthy.

The more stable your device and internet connection, and the longer you stay online, the more tokens you can accumulate over time.

How QuikDB Works (In One Minute)​

  1. You install the QuikDB node software on a device.
  2. Every 2 minutes, your device sends a "heartbeat" to the network to prove it's online.
  3. Each heartbeat gives you a small amount of reward points (future QuikDB tokens).
  4. The best-performing devices also earn a small monthly token bonus from a partner pool (worth up to about 7–8 USD per month at today's rates).
  5. Over time, you build up a balance of:
    • QuikDB tokens (points for helping early)
    • Monthly bonus tokens (if you're in the top group of operators)

Everything is paid in tokens, not in cash. Any dollar amounts are just to help you understand the rough value today.

What is QuikDB?​

QuikDB is a community-powered cloud network. Instead of relying only on big data centers, QuikDB lets normal people run "nodes" on their own devices. Developers then use this network to run their apps and store app data. In return, node operators earn crypto tokens for keeping their devices online and healthy.

What Makes QuikDB Different?​

QuikDB is not a place to store your personal files. It is an infrastructure layer for apps. Your role is closer to an Airbnb host than a cloud customer: you rent out your spare computing power and bandwidth, and you get rewarded in tokens for helping keep the network running.

How Do I Earn?​

Your device sends a small "heartbeat" to the network every 2 minutes. Each heartbeat proves your device is online, and earns you a small amount of QuikDB token points. The best-performing devices also share a small monthly bonus in partner tokens, which currently works out to a few dollars per month per top device. Over time, you accumulate tokens that reflect your contribution to the network.
