LSK → USDT Migration

Overview​

Effective February 12, 2026, QuikDB has migrated from LSK (Lisk) tokens to USDT (Tether) stablecoins for all node provider rewards.

Why USDT?​

We migrated to USDT to provide:

  • ✅ Stable, predictable payouts - 1 USDT = $1.00 USD (no volatility)
  • ✅ Reduced operational risk - No dependency on LSK price fluctuations
  • ✅ Better liquidity - USDT is widely accepted on all major exchanges
  • ✅ Simplified reward handling - Easier to cash out and use across wallets

Migration Timeline​

  • February 12, 2026 (EOD): Migration executed
    • All LSK rewards converted to USDT at current market rate
    • Frontend/dashboard updated to display USDT rewards
    • Distribution continues uninterrupted

What Changed?​

Before Migration​

  • Monthly Reward: 25 LSK (value fluctuates with market price)
  • Distribution: Every 2 minutes
  • Token: LSK on Lisk L2 (Ethereum)

After Migration​

  • Monthly Reward: 5 USDT (exactly $5.00 USD)
  • Distribution: Every 2 minutes (unchanged)
  • Token: USDT on Ethereum Mainnet

Conversion Details​

  • Existing LSK balances were converted to USDT at the current market rate at time of migration
  • Monthly distributions changed from 25 LSK to 5 USDT
  • Vault balances converted automatically
  • Payment history preserved for all LSK transactions

No Action Required​

The migration was fully automatic. Node providers did not need to:

  • Update any settings
  • Re-register devices
  • Change wallet addresses
  • Reinstall software

Frequently Asked Questions​

Will I lose my accumulated rewards?​

No. All existing LSK balances (monthly + vault) were converted to USDT at the market rate.

Do I need to update my device?​

No. The migration was entirely backend-side. Your CLI and devices continue working without any updates.

What happened to my LSK in the vault?​

All vault balances were converted to USDT at the market rate and remain in your vault. Your total USD value is preserved.

When will I receive USDT instead of LSK?​

Starting February 12, 2026 EOD, all new rewards are distributed in USDT. The distribution schedule remains the same (every 2 minutes).

Can I still withdraw my rewards?​

Yes! USDT withdrawals work the same way as LSK withdrawals, with:

  • ✅ Lower gas fees (Ethereum mainnet)
  • ✅ More exchange support
  • ✅ Stable value (no price drops while waiting)

Why did the monthly amount change from 25 to 5?​

The dollar value remains the same (~$5.00 USD per month). The numeric amount changed because:

  • 25 LSK × $0.20 = $5.00 USD
  • 5 USDT × $1.00 = $5.00 USD

What if I preferred LSK?​

While LSK distributions have ended, you can always:

  • Withdraw your USDT rewards to any Ethereum wallet
  • Swap USDT for LSK on decentralized exchanges (DEXs)
  • Use USDT directly on hundreds of platforms
